Over the course of four decades, Dr. Gail Weingast‘s affinity for a career in medicine, particularly in the field of radiology, has been resoundingly evident. Following her medical school tenure, Dr. Weingast embarked on a comprehensive educational path. She commenced with a two-year pediatrics internship at Colorado General Hospital in Denver, followed by a two-year presidency program in pediatrics, culminating in another residency specializing in radiology, which she completed in 1983, concurrently with a fellowship in ultrasound.
Subsequently, Dr. Weingast pursued further post-graduate studies in radiology from 1983 to 1984 at St. Anthony’s Hospital, also located in Denver. Although her journey to Connecticut was a gradual one, she has since dedicated approximately two decades to her role at William W. Backus Hospital in Norwich, Connecticut. Under her stewardship, the radiology department has undergone a remarkable metamorphosis, emerging as one of the preeminent facilities not only in the nation but potentially on a global scale. Dr. Weingast cherishes every facet of her career trajectory for its invaluable contribution to shaping her into the esteemed and respected physician she is today.
